Water System Update: A Message from District of Lillooet Public Works and Utilities Department

Water usage is down significantly compared to the same time last year! This is due to the cooler start to summer, public compliance with Stage 1 restrictions, and improved system efficiency from recent upgrades at the water treatment plant. Improvements include the installation of a new sand separator on the UV system, which reduces maintenance and improves performance. The intake upgrades completed last year have also eliminated sand from the system. Also, last year Public Works completed a full teardown of fire hydrants, repaired multiple leaks, and began replacing aging hydrants. This work is ongoing. The Water Treatment Plant is currently running smoothly. Stage 2 restrictions may still be necessary if there is a prolonged hot spell.

The District thanks all residents for compliance with water conservation measures!
