Nominations for Mayor or Councillor in the General Local Election

Enclosed is a collection of information and forms to guide candidates in the District of Lillooet 2026 General Municipal Election. Please review this material carefully to ensure that your campaign is run in compliance with statutes and that your nomination, appointment, and campaign financing disclosure forms are filed appropriately.

For assistance, please email elections@lillooet.ca, and our officials will follow up with you directly if you have any questions related to your nomination process and the election. All communications are logged for administrative purposes.

Please connect directly with the Deputy Election Officer, Ms Paula Price, so that she can witness your signature on September 3rd and 4th, and September 10th and 11th during regular business hours, on a first-come, first-served basis, at Municipal Hall and receive your completed paperwork to deliver to me.

Accepting elected office is the highest order of public service and offers the opportunity to significantly influence the quality of life in your community. As such, it is not to be taken lightly. If, after serious consideration and consultation, you are willing to accept the challenge and demands of elected office, you must have your nomination forms completed and filed during the nomination period. The person being nominated is obligated to ensure that nomination documents are complete and received in accordance with the Local Government Act.

The nomination period starts at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and ends at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026.

In accordance with Section 116 of the Local Government Act, the order of names on the ballot will be arranged alphabetically by last name. If two candidates share a last name, those candidates will be arranged alphabetically in order of their first name.
