Why Stage 1?
Every year spring freshet increases the turbidity in the water, making it more difficult to treat at the same time as demand rises with warmer weather. Conserving water usage starting at this time of year helps ease demand on the water treatment system, ensuring the equipment works smoothly. Stage 1 comes into effect on May 1 every year as per the Water Conservation Bylaw.
The District thanks residents and businesses for your cooperation in following water conservation measures each summer season.
