New Chief Administrative Officer

The District of Lillooet is pleased to announce that Tyler Madsen will be joining the team as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective September 8, 2026.

 Mr. Madsen brings more than 16 years of senior leadership experience in local government, including previous service as Chief Administrative Officer for the District of Elkford. His career has also included leadership roles with the Town of Osoyoos, District of Sparwood, and the City of Courtenay. His expertise spans municipal governance, strategic planning, financial and asset management, municipal operations, organizational leadership, and the successful delivery of major infrastructure and capital projects.

 Mayor Laurie Hopfl welcomed Mr. Madsen on behalf of Council and the community.

Tyler brings more than sixteen years of local government experience to our community, including serving as Chief Administrative Officer for the District of Elkford. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive experience in municipal governance and organizational leadership. He has managed major infrastructure initiatives and overseen capital projects while working collaboratively with Indigenous communities, businesses, contractors, residents, and elected officials.

Mr. Madsen said he is excited to join the organization and work with the community to build on the District’s success.
