Goals

2026 Municipal Objectives

Vacant and Underutilized Property - Provide Council with a detailed report on options to promote, support, or facilitate development of housing and redevelopment on vacant and underutilized properties.

Official Community Plan (OCP) Update – Complete the OCP update to align with provincial requirements and support long-term growth and development.

Zoning and Subdivision Bylaw Review – Complete the rewrite of the Zoning and Subdivision Bylaw, including consideration of pre-zoning to support density in serviced areas.

Housing and Land Use

Development Cost Charges (DCCs) – Investigate opportunities for implementing Development Cost Charges.

Roadworks & Infrastructure Priorities – Provide an annual report identifying the District’s most strategic infrastructure projects and priorities.

Shovel-Ready Projects – Develop a small portfolio of shovel-ready projects to position the District for funding opportunities (e.g., recreation, civic facilities, roads, beautification, economic development assets).

Curbside Recycling – Research and report on the viability of introducing a curbside recycling program for the community.

Infrastructure Planning

Source Water Development Phase II – Continue hydrogeological and environmental assessments for Town Creek and infiltration well sources, including monitoring and funding analysis.

Water MTSA – Negotiate a Municipal Type Service Agreement with Cayoose Creek Band / Sekw’el’was for provision of potable water services.

Water & Utilities

Downtown Vitalization – Complete the Downtown Vitalization Plan, including grant-related work for key community assets such as Miyazaki House, the Old School House, and recreation facility upgrades.

Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan – Develop a comprehensive plan including service levels, cost recovery targets, equipment reserve planning, and potential shared governance/funding models.

Community & Economy

Health Care Recruitment – Strengthen local healthcare by supporting attraction and retention of doctors and healthcare providers to ensure hospital stability and continuity of care

Indigenous Partnerships – Develop a Memorandum of Understanding with Cayoose Creek Band / Sekw’el’was to support collaboration on economic development and continued community-to-community relationship building.

Emergency Management & ESS Agreements – Develop agreements with the Lillooet Tribal Council, member communities, and/or SLRD to strengthen coordinated emergency response and emergency support services.
