2026 Emergency Preparedness Week

May 3 to 9 A week of practical steps to help Lillooet prepare for potential emergencies.

Emergency Preparedness Week is a chance to take a few small, practical steps that make a big difference in an emergency. Throughout the week, we’ll share tools and local events to help you stay informed, make a plan, and get ready for wildfire season and other hazards.

This week’s events

Get emergency alerts for Lillooet

Voyent Alert is how the District of Lillooet sends urgent information to residents during emergencies, including wildfire, flood, and other public safety events.

It’s free, and you choose how you want to be notified: text, voice call, email, or app. If you’re signed up, you’ll receive a test message that morning. If you don’t get it, you’ll know it’s time to sign up or update your settings.

We’re running a test on Monday, May 4.

Get prepared

A few simple resources to help you and your household get ready. Most take less than an hour.

  • Make a household plan - A fill-in-the-blank guide from PreparedBC. Covers who to call, where to meet, and what to do if you’re separated.

  • Build a grab-and-go kit - What to pack so you can leave quickly if you need to.

  • Plan for your animals - Pets and livestock need their own plan. CDART’s guide walks you through it.

  • Wildfire readiness - PreparedBC’s guide to preparing your home and property for wildfire season.

Set both up today so you're ready before an emergency strikes.
