Municipal Services During a Potential Canada Post Strike

Following a temporary pause in the national Canada Post labour disruption at the end of 2024, negotiations between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) are ongoing. A strike or service interruption remains possible as early as May 22, 2025.

While a resolution may still be reached, the District of Lillooet is encouraging residents and businesses to prepare for possible delays in mail delivery that could affect the distribution of important municipal documents, such as property tax bills, utility bills, invoices, and public notices.

Please note: It remains the responsibility of recipients to ensure that any payments due are received at the District office by the specified due date.

Residents and businesses are advised to connect with the District to request invoices be reprinted or emailed. The financial services department is available to assist you with your inquiries by email to finance@lillooet.ca, by phone to (250) 256-4289, or in person at the District office located at 615 Main Street. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 12:00PM (noon) and 1:00PM to 4:30PM, excluding weekends and holidays.

Payment Options:

• In Person - cash, debit, and cheques are accepted at the District office during regular office hours.

• Drop box - a drop box is located at the front (Main Street) entrance of the District office for after-hours drop off. The payment will be processed on the next business day.

• Financial institution - online, by telephone, or in person at your financial institution.

Suppliers working with the District

District suppliers and vendors are asked to email invoices electronically to finance@lillooet.ca. Sign up for direct deposit payments to your bank account by completing the New Vendor Setup form and submitting the form to finance@lillooet.ca. Alternatively, vendors and suppliers can arrange with the finance department to pick up cheques at the District office.
