Come for the adventure. Invest in a lifetime.

Nestled in lee of the rugged Coast Mountains, the community of Lillooet offers affordable land and housing, an attractive cost of living, a skilled workforce, a strong commercial core, proximity to large centres and major transportation corridors and unsurpassed natural assets and recreational opportunities.

Lillooet represents the new frontier in BC’s burgeoning wine industry, identified through government-supported studies as a next logical destination for investment. Fort Berens Estate Winery, the first commercial vineyard in the region established in 2009, has prospered. With economical agricultural land in plentiful supply opportunities abound for new wine visionaries.

The Fraser River’s river benches have long supported a diversity of agricultural ventures. Ranchers have prospered for decades here, as have fruit and vegetable growers. In recent years organic farming ventures such as Fountainview Farms, the largest organic producer of carrots in Canada, have flourished. The local and regional governments have embarked on an agricultural research project to encourage new investment.

Historically Lillooet’s economy has been closely tied to the forest industry. Savona Specialty Plywood, the largest and most technologically advanced producer of overlaid MDO and HDO concrete forming panels in North America, operates its veneer plant in Lillooet in conjunction with plywood operations in nearby Savona.

Lillooet has a strong commercial core that services a much larger geographic and demographic region. The local Indigenous people, the St’at’imc, have a rich heritage and are moving ahead with promising cultural tourism initiatives. Our location at the junction of BC Highways 99, 12 and 40 facilitates both commercial and tourist traffic. CN Rail’s railway network connects Lillooet to major markets in all directions. Our airport is equipped with a paved airstrip for aircraft up to 40,000 pounds.

We are proud of our friendly small-town atmosphere, our spirited volunteers, our affordable standard of living and our spectacular natural setting.

Talk to us about how we can help make your business prosper in one of the most beautiful places imaginable.
